I was just thinking about this DLT, before I read this thread. I agree that fighting southpaws makes one (as a fighter) appear more vulnerable, divergent, and less of a beast in most ocassions, but I still think that the top dawgs at WW would beat Berto. I disagree with you saying that he would beat Cotto. I think Cotto outboxes him, and takes a UD

yeah, I dont mind anyone saying that Cotto or Margarito beats him but my main point is that I dont think you can just call him a bum after these fights. I would atleast like to see him have one fight right now against a righty to see how he does and I like his chances. With all that being said, Ive made post on here from day 1 saying that I dont like his footwork and that will keep him from reaching his full potential. He just doesnt move smoothly around the ring or circles. Its like he just picks his feet up and move from one spot to the next

Berto came in at 153; exactly the weight I said he should come in at. Against Collazo; dude came in at 160.

At this point, Berto would beat the crap out of Cotto.

I agree with everything you are saying DLT

I'd like to see Berto in there with Margarito, Clottey, or Mosley just to see how he does against these fighters, whom are not southpaws

I'd like to see Berto with a better trainer that can work with his defense and fine tune his technique. Agreed that people underrate him too much. He's explosive, strong and fast. He's just a little awkward and a little sloppy on this last fight.

I think he does.Berto was rusty as a result of the long layoff and coming off of the Haiti incident and that contributed to his flat performance. And Quitana is a decent fighter.

I agree and also, his feet be too wide apart which keeps him off balance.
