Comments Thread For: Erik Morales To Fight Again on July 24 in Mexico

According to reports in Mexico, former champion Erik Morales has set a tentative date for his next fight. Morales returned to ring as a welterweight on March 27 and won a decision over Jose Alfaro. It was Morales' first fight in over two and a half years. Morales is planning to fight again on July 24 in Mexico. He doesn't know who the July opponent will be but he wants to fight at least three to four times in 2010. Training camp will begin in early May. [Click Here To Read More]

I actually think that rest may have done wonders for Morales and he may actually shot some top opponent (not at WW of course). I'm hoping he slowing comes down in weight and maybe gets to 140 possible 135.

People may think 135 is a reach, but honestly, he defiantly had 12lbs on him (Which was pure fat) that could have been taking off him with the right conditioning/training.

No..that chapter is closed. Hopefully Morales can continue to lose weight and fight Marquez and Soto in Mexico sometime later on down the road.

Hopefully Erik lost some weight, He's slower and probably not that stronger but he still has the technical skills. Those are never forgotten.

This will be Amir Khan's next opponent probably unless Suliman can figure out a way to strip Devon Alexander for no reason and give Morales an easy path to a fourth title like he did with Casamayor at 135.

Marquez vs. Erik for the first mexican to win 4 divisions! No matter how shot Erik is and JMM already past prime. That would be a pretty amazing ****ing fight.
