Margarito knew he needed plaster to defeat Cotto

If he was worth a damn he would've already been brought up on assault charges Luis Resto and Panama Jack style. It's sad, but I've seen the photos of Margaritos handwraps at the Cotto fight and you can undeniably see the pink plaster material on his handwraps. Appalling, that people get behind this guy. I would rather someone do steroids for ten years than use plaster on their handwraps. I hope this guy ends up getting knocked out so hard that a year later he's drooling Gerber baby food all over himself on his own couch and ****ting his pants.

There still is no proof of it at all. Remember each commission checks hand wraps differently and I dont personally think he cheated at all but no doubt Cotto fans would want an excuse for the loss (not rubbing it in but just my opinion)

of course with him TRYING to use it against mosley it puts doubt in the mind.

WHat we need is margo vs cotto 2. now that will be an interesting fight

            I agree.

Margaritos worst nightmare is the first six rounds of that fight. Cotto was on point at the time. Cotto would have smoked any other WW that night no doubt.

There is a photograph of Margarito with plaster, in pink rectangular sheets, on his handwraps at the Cotto fight.....I'd dig for it but I have to take a **** brb

also it's worth noting I'm not mexican or puerto rican

his worst nightmare? he was getting hit, fine but he started slow (usual for him) and came back and won it convicingly... i think that fight took a lot out of him, but lets be real here... it wasnt that bad for him

as for cotto beating any other WW that night? thats rubbish, tony is slow, easy to hit... its hard to NOT look good against him

you can discuss this all you want, but its nothing more than speculation and opinion

its been beaten to death on these boards, im sure you've discussed it under a different account, closer to the actual time the fight took place

all this thread is is a way of saying "im a crybaby", hence the bottles...

                  but continue to speculate

I feel Tony knew he would become a Mexican superstar if he beat Cotto who had established himself really well already in the WW division. Cotto was undefeated and looked liked a tank against the majority of his opponents. Tony didn't want to take any chance in this fight and used the plaster(maybe even before Cotto he's been using it...). Without the plaster I think Cotto wouldn't have wilted as easy and Tony would have been more discouraged similar to the way Mosley shut him out. When he lost the first 5 or 6 against Mosley, he knew he was in trouble. Yet...against Cotto there was zero discouragement. Hmmm?
