but bute is a B- level fighter at best... when he steps up to the plate he will lose continually and then fight bums in canada until he retires.

He is not a B- level fighter, again you don't know what you're talking about. He is an elite SMW. He is NOT an elite P4P fighter. But, at 168 he is elite, arguably the best SMW, you look at his resume is better at 168 is better than most if not all who is in the Super 6. And, he has good skills.

If you look at Bute resume, Only Froch has a case to having a better resume at 168. Bute resume> Ward, Dirrell, AA, Green... And, not only does Bute have arguably the best resume at 168. He also had very good skills. People on here do nothing but downgrade fighters who they really are not familiar with. That is the problem.

I think it's possible that Bute might be a better fighter than Dawson. But Dawson still does more for Hopkins' legacy. And if either fight goes down, it belongs on regular HBO.

He is not better than Dawson. Especially at 175... But, he is a legit opponent. Who at 170 I would favor to beat Hopkins.

Yeah, he is unproven. Butes best win is against a gate keeper in Andrade, not that impressive. He isn't in with the big dogs in the Super Six and that's not his fault but I sure in the hell am not going to say hes something unless if he goes out and proves it. If you ain't in the tourney, you aren't ****. If you have Bute as the number 1 SMW I have to seriously wonder how you rank fighters.
