According to a report in bild, Sauerland Event, promoters for Arthur Abraham, have officially protested the fighter's disqualification loss to Andre Dirrell. The fight took place on March 27 at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Sauerland filed a protest with the WBC. The disqualified call was issued in the eleventh round when Dirrell slipped to the mat and Abraham hit him while still down. [Click Here To Read More]

Chances of a new fight or change in the result appears slim.

what bull****, they should just accept the decision. The referee was never going to be able to stop that illegal punch, the responsibility not to throw it was abraham's.

Abraham's character was in question following the illegal blow and his attitude afterwards. Now that this has come out, his character will take another blow. The best thing for Abraham is to accept his loss like a man, show some class and attempt to win his next fight. He may try to land a rematch later down the line. The drama for a rematch is already set, so ticket sales will be good.

I might be wrong but from what I saw (and think) not calling the knockdown 10th was an attempt (maybe) to make up for not calling a knockdown for Dirrell after Abraham went into the ropes in an earlier round. From what I saw the ropes were the only thing holding AA up at that point. Anyway, he should just get over it and move on.

They are not going to change the ruling, it was a clear intentional foul and AA's part and the DQ was the right call.

He can fight Dirrell some other time down the road if he is so upset about it as I doubt Dirrell would want to leave his means of winning as being laid out in front of his hometown crowd.

Waste of time really. It's a controversial fight, lets leave it at that and move on to the next.

LOL, get over yourselves Sauerland!! So because the ref wasn't in position to stop the illegal blow that makes it ok? Your man was getting a boxing lesson and got frustrated. Suck it up and move on to the next fight. Crying like some females. Pull ya skirts up!!

Well if you look at a replay, Dirrell hit AA with his forearm and not his glove which is a foul and the ref made the right call there....but AA should suck it up and just take the lose like a man
