Isn't this why most dislike Mayweather, well here is my OWN take anyway....
I feel cheated that a guy who had the talent to possibly distinguish himself as one of true top 5 ATG did not maximize his talent by consistently proving he could beat the very best (elite) fighters and take on the biggest challenges available to him, now surely the biggest Floyd fans cant say they dont feel this to, no?
I would love of told my son how good Mayweather was and how privileged i was to of seen such a terrific fighter who's record stands up to some of the very best ATG fighter and that most importantly his record is testament to that because of quality of fighters he beat, not to say im not already privileged to of seen a great fighter like Mayweather just that he would be ranked much higher with the talent he has, thats why i personally dislike Mayweather so much, i dont like him much as a man but i would easily overlook that if he did what he did against the very best, CONSISTENTLY, and still talked ****, Mayweather backs it up by winning but here is the thing, doesn't he invariably always win BECAUSE he does not take on the best CONSISTENTLY?
I might be hard to please but i hold fighters to a high standard when they truly prove their worth, i have an immense amount of respect for Pernell Whitaker for this reason.
Thoughts?
