If you notice, the guys that fight that way are not athletic, fluid, loose-hipped types.

They are well-muscled guys who are a bit stiff. They don't have a seamless transition. So it suits their physical capabilities to absorb the incoming and THEN respond. As opposed to guys like manny, shane, oscar or Floyd who have that good slip-game.

And what's odd is, most guys who fight that way actually have good chins.
