Even with the earthquake, rumor has it that he had to be bought out of a rematch clause, meaning at first Berto just wanted the fight delayed. Berto also offered a rematch to Collazo and Cotto had a chance to fight him in 2009. Guess they didn't want it that bad. Mosley will lose to Floyd, but with one or two wins, maybe that fight can happen in the future.
It's going to be pointless then, Mosley will be too old then. The only way I see a point to Mosley vs Berto now is if the unlikely scenario of Mosley beating Mayweather Jr.

Yes, that is sad and all but it didn't slow down his boxing career much since he signed quickly to fight Quintana. I'm okay with you calling me the Prick, I'm just calling it how I see it.

The fight with Q is happening 3 months after the quake. The fight with Mosley would have been a fews weeks afterwards.

Thats still early in my opinion. Well, I guess it depends on how well he knew the people... I still think thats rather quick, also some boxers use the death of loved ones as motivation to become better. Look at Buster-Douglass as an example. I guess it depends on the person though. Didn't Buster-Douglass's mother die like a week before he fought Tyson?

When we heard the sad news about Berto and his family members passing in Haiti's me and my oldest brother thought Berto was going to use that as motivation to beat Mosley's ass. We were wrong though, because after my brother and I had that conversation the fight was canceled.

The fact that it was a crappy version of Tyson didn't hurt. And everyone is different. After the May vs Pac talks burned out, and May couldn't find a suitable opponent, I swear I was hearing talks of powerful people thinking about buying out Berto beforethe earthquake, out of fear that he could win, and a May vs Berto match wouldn't make as much money as a May vs Mosley match-up.
