With Kirkland's style you cant obtain better defense. He is a super pressure fighter, comes in there with his fists swinging. He choose to lack defense to increase offense. Sort of like Margarito. Pressure fighters like those have like 70% offense and 30% defense. Can't balance defense on that kind of style. If he worked on his defense, you would have to take away his aggressiveness.

The guy is in prison and hasn't beaten anybody yet. Overrated comes to mind.

The guy is a hard punching machine, but he just walks straight forward and overwhelms his opponents, and doesn't have a granite chin. Whats gonna happen when he meets an opponent who doesn't fold under his pressure? He'll have no answer for it.
