How come the judges favored Mayweather over Castillo?

Judges are usually more impressed by the fighter who is actually making the fight and throwing the punches at their opponent. Sure not all those punches get through but it usually looks good enough for the judges to warrent giving rounds to that fighter.

I can see fans thinking Mayweather Jr or Castillo won that fight, but when your at a fight where one opponent keeps applying pressure and throwing punches. That usually wows the judges into favoring that opponent.

    The judges were fair...

    I had it 114-112 Mayweather....

People tend to judge one or two rounds as the whole fight...

If you watch the fight round for round, you will see that Mayweather won...

I'm not saying the decision was wrong, but the judges... Who were they? Were they consider good judges or unknown judges? I mean usually at a live event when judging a fight, its very hard for a judge to see what lands cleanly and what doesn't.

US boxer fighting at home against foreign boxer, come on, it doesn't take a rhodes scholar. Before anyone gets excited I thought it was a draw not a Castillo win.

Isn't Castillo an American boxer and didn't he hold a belt?

I just googled, I didn't know Castillo was born in Mexico...
            I'm wrong....

home town decisions happen, but if the fight was in Mexico in front of a roaring Mexican crowd, would it still have been scored a win to Mayweather? possibly but doubtful imo.

Castillo is Mexican. To answer your other question, the three judges were American, Thai and British and the ref was American (they fought in Las Vegas, US).

Mayweather showed a lot of guts in that fight, in fact both fighters did but I don't think either made a cast-iron case for winning.

                  C'mon Now!

Anyone who knows boxing knows Castillo beat PBF the 1st fight...Hands Down!!! Even the HBO crew admitted it and repeated it the following week when Tapia was given a gift. I believe it was something like this..."Two robberies in two weeks!"

He was the house fighter. I could see a case for Mayweather winning but not by the margins on those cards.
