  • Is there fighters house in boxing???

I was reading a book about a school mma fighter name ken shamrock and he use to have a school called... Lions Den Shootfighting Academy.

The way it worked is that, people had to go through a nasty try outs that broke %90 of the people and the ones that made it would be accepted in the shootfighting academy.

When they get accepted they get to live in the academy bumping upstairs with the rest of the ones who made it and instead of paying rent, training and etc... they would pay 10 percent and they have to embrace the diet, training program and lifestyle etc...

Does boxing do that??? Also how does a full time boxer pay for his living while training full time???

I was using mma as an example, I am wondering how good can a boxer get if he does NOTHING but train and eat, sleep, rest boxing and not have the worry and stress of paying rent and dealing with family and loved ones during training camp and how sharp would they get WOW!!!

Im pretty sure that either that story isnt quite true.....or that the only reason it existed was because Frank Shamrock was a ufc pioneer who had a rough upbringing in sacramento that was doing his part to help inner city kids who had no housing and/or stay off the streets.

I live in san jose where his Frank Shamrock also has a lion's den academy. but it is solely a gym and training center. No housing at all in the building.
