    Are you guys serious?

Im seeing threads "is cotto past his best?" "should cotto retire?" all this BS.

The dude fought arguably the best fighter of are era and put up a hellova fight against him will doing it.

Just cause pacuiao washed de la hoya and hatton and they retired, doesnt mean a better, young cotto should.

We'll see June 6th who should be retiring.

Does any1 else agree with me?

He was broken down by Margarito in a fight that can affect you mentally and physically for the rest of a career, he looked terrible in a "win" over Clottey, then he was destroyed by Manny Pacquiao. Doesn't take a boxing expert to know when your career isn't what it used to be.

lol Yeah its bad. The reason why I say Cotto might be better off making his way into retirement is that he's taken a lot of damage over his past few fights and hasn't reacted very well to them like he has in the past and he's already reached and passed the peak of his career professionally. I think he can still fight and compete with the elite but there is not much left for him to do in this sport that he's capable of in my opinion.

he's obviously lost something. he's not "the same" cotto from the past....

but i don't think he should retire, unless he wants to.

Without an improved D, Cotto should retire, or he will be a shell of his former self when his career is over. I think he's a very entetaining and skilled fighter who could continue to give us war after war, but the damage he takes each time out is just too much.

im with you. even hatton aint done yet. hes just giving in to the public pressure that hes done.

pac also proved himself as the best fighter against cotto. as for DLH fight, that was his own request to fight at 147 to see if he still got it. cant blame pac for taking that. he thought he can bully a LW champion coming up and matching him to WW. he failed miserably.

I think if he loses in June, he might wanna consider hanging up the gloves. But with Steward in his corner, It seems like he's taking a serious approach at getting back to the top.

I just don't know how much more of a beating he can take, though I'm not expecting him to take one against Foreman.

My man Styles make fights if you are such an expert you should know that. Cotto still pull the trigger when he has the opportunity to let his hands go he does. As long as he is not gun shy he is not shot. he has lost and I feel he needs 2 fights like the Foreman fight to regain his confidence and then he should be ready for another big fight. With the new trainer in his corner he should be able to improve on a few things. He can still be a big name at 154 and do what he needs to do there. You don;t go 12 round swith Clottey and then 11 rounds with Manny because you are shot.....Lefty
