Arum: Manny could return in Sep if the "right" fight is made... Guess what...

Hahahaha. Seriously I want to know what the Pacquiao fans think of Arum trying to match Pacquiao with Margarito. Forget Mayweather for a moment and tell me what you think about that.
It makes a mockery of the sport that a guy can use plaster in his handwraps and then be brought back 12 months later and fight again. It makes things even worse when his promoter gives him a fight with a guy who's rated as the best fighter in the world.
It makes Arum and Pacquiao look bad in my opinion.Comment

Arum is starting to aggressively work this fight. Now, he's saying Tony may fight in June on the undercard of Chavez Jr vs Duddy to get Tony some more exposure to try to build up a Manny fight.
There are too many business reasons for this fight to happen:
- They both are promoted by Arum. Arum is gonna continue to match Manny with his fighters while he can; in the end, Arum wins.
- The September date has traditionally been popular for Mexican fighters.
- Both Manny and Tony are the only fighters to defeat and brutalize Cotto.
- Manny has beaten every Mexican fighter he's faced... you know Mexican fans will be tuning in to see if he can do the same to Tony.
Promoting this fight would be easy and the fight itself makes $ense. I guarantee Bob has this fight higher on his list of priorities than the Gayweather fight.Comment

Tim Starks:
"If Arum gets his wish and Margarito fights Manny Pacquiao later in 2010, it'll be a black mark on the entire sport. Watch and see what the mainstream media says about that one. The newspapers will damn boxing to its core if the #1 man in boxing fights someone whose license was stripped for cheating rather than giving the fans what they wanted, which is Pacquiao-Floyd Mayweather. Watch. No one thing can kill boxing; it can't be killed. But it can definitely get kicked back to the ****** from which it had been climbing."
As if the varying and sometimes flagrantly false excuses for what happened the night welterweight Antonio Margarito got caught with loaded gloves in January of 2009 weren't silly enough, now comes this: What R. Kelly's defense team might have dubbed the "Palmolive Hard On Grease, Soft On Hands" defense. Tell us about it, Margarito attorney…
completely agree with the above. margarito's a disgrace.Comment
