    You are right.

I love boxing and the debates of the sport

but why all the name calling and this and that.

    Shows intelligence or lack thereof.

      you heard it first
Could happen. However, for Shane to win he has to find the "old shane" the one from ten years ago

That Shane used to big-boy opponents with blazing combos to the body then the head. He was never a big puncher but wore people down with volume and precise power punches. He got hit in his head quite a bit at times because he was so focused on hitting his foes with blistering body shots. Basically, Shane was a big lightweight with great speed, good power and an exhaustive amatuer background (multiple national championships at 132lbs). That Shane could have beat anyone at 135lbs even a young Floyd IMHO.

Can he fight that way now? He does struggle with well-rounded boxers (Forrest, Wright, De la Hoya). His only chance is to bring it to Floyd, big-boy style like it was 1999 and break him down with those blistering body combos he used throw back when he was IBF World Lightweight champ enroute to becoming the consensus 1999 FOTY. I just don't know if he can do anything else to trouble PBF on May 1, 2010.

He looked good against collazo, cotto and margs.

I honestly Had him winning 7-5 in rounds against cotto

either way I think he has enough left to challenge
Floyd and make him step up his game.

And that is what the boxing world needs, an elite competitive
        fight.

If forrest, cotto, and winky found a way to beat mosley floyd sure a **** will too. People want floyd to loose so bad that they don't care how or who. Mosley has little to no chance to win. Floyd will win easy and we'll be doing all this wishful floyd loosing talk all over again with someone new

This is not new news. Stephen Edwards has been saying he's heard Shane hasn't been looking good in sparring for the past couple of weeks. Floyd Sr is a good trainer, but I really don't take much he says outside of the ring seriously.

                Like some fighters we know.
Yeah Ali had a bit more pride than Floyd does. The ducking stories have some clout but when you look more closely all of his decisions made since. In his lower weights he went after all the best fighters which your supposed to do when you haven't proven yourself and now he's going after the money. I just can't fault him for that when you look at the nature of the boxing game. All these trainers and promoter's squeezing every dollar they can at the expense of the athletes in this game's sweat, blood and future health. In my opinion him not fighting Margarito is more than forgivable because I never saw that as a fight that needed to happen because Margarito was busy losing to Paul williams and two lesser fighters before that. He's just not a special fighter to me to rip this guys legacy apart for not fighting him. IMO fighting DLH at 154 especially when you can't even get up to 154 and weighed 5lbs under the weight limit inside the ring is a more worthy fight and it made money. The most money in boxing history to be exact.

what is the matter? many fighters (shane included) are known to take it easy during sparring, so what is the big deal if what Floyd Sr said is true? (i wouldn't trust Sr anyway). For instance its well known that Jose Luis Castillo was giving Pacquiao hell while preparing to fight Cotto. That doesnt mean Pacquiao was done, was it? just ask Cotto, and what about castillo who couldnt even beat Gomez... come on, sparring is just a preparation for a real fight, and fighters like to take it easy or go hard on their sparrings, it depends on the fighter... Floyd like to beat sparrings and run in the real fights, and Mosley takes it easy on his sparring partners and like to fight the real fight.. as simple as that.

You hit the nail on the head! I agree with you 100%..These people want to see Floyd lose so bad they don't care if a fighter is on Pacroids or whatever. But they are doing a lot of wishful thinking and that's all it's going to be. Floyd will win easily
