Mosley's generally looked pretty poor at 154. The only time he looked good there was against Vargas in the rematch, and Vargas looked shotter than shot.

He didn't look good against Oscar at 154? I didn't see that fight so I wouldn't know, but I thought that was one of his signature fights.

exactly. and add to that the fact that he's 6 years older than mayweather... he's a 39 year old, past his prime fighter. only 2 years younger than jones and we know what's happened to him and boxers around his age.

you can see mayweathers plan by just looking closely at what he's doing... marquez. good name on paper oh but wait he made him go up 9 pounds, go up a whole class and fight at welterweight for the first time. lol!!

Not really. Some people even felt Oscar won that fight. I scored it for Shane. And, this is the fight that Shane was using PED's and he didn't really look good. He looked much better against Oscar at 147. At 147 Shane clearly beat Oscar. There was no debate about that.

because miguel cotto was available. because top rank promotes both fighters. because arum keeps more money. because both fighters are under top rank the fight is easier to make.

im not threatened by this fight at all in fact im looking forward to it but that doesnt change the fact that mosley is the same guy who lost to cotto struggled a little with mayorga and then fought margs right after he was caught loading his wraps. im not hating those are facts that shouldnt be ignored when analyzing this fight.

He didn't. A good amount of people think he lost the second fight to Oscar. I haven't seen that fight in a long time though youtube it.

Shane Mosley is still the same fighter that struggled vs a totally shot & crappiest version of ricardo mayorga up to that date. I saw that fight & i just couldnt believe how sloppy, unathletic, & decrepit shane looked.

He kept on getting hit by mayorga's slow, looping, wild right hands only to regain some semblance of moral victory with a last second knockout.

The whole point of this thread is that mosley was made to look better than he really is by the worst version of antonio margarito. Imo, margarito was suffering ill effects of the cotto fight along with the mental instability of having been caught with plaster before the fight contributed to a totally shot fighter physically & mentally.

Margarito in that fight was slow, lethargic, he was literally dragging his whole body throughout the fight, his volume punching was totally gone, yet it took shane 9 rounds to dispose of the guy.

Come fight night, shane will be 4 months shy of his 39th birthday & will be out of the ring for exactly 1 year & 6 months. Yet people think this fight is gonna be great?

I will be rooting for shane but basically he basically has nothing but a punchers chance.

That was at 154... That means **** at 147 since it has been proven that Shane is better at 147. And, I scored the Cotto fight a draw but whatever. I do know this Shane IMO is the best fighter and the best WW that Floyd has ever fought. So credit to Floyd if he wins. He is finally fighting a true elite WW IMO.
