WTF? Roy fought danny green at 179. That is a ludicrous claim.

The first fight with Roy was at middleweight, they were both MW's at the time. So that is also ludicrous. You must be one of those boxrec junkies that just looks at the weight they weighed in at but fail to realize that only title fights you need to come in under 160 (which is why bhop & jones both came in over 160 in fights prior to their title shots. This goes for anyone, look up Danny Jacobs and notice he never once weighed in under 160 until he had a title fight, but he's always been a MW).

The only guys that hopkins "made" come up were Pavlik (catch-weight of 170, hopkins went down 5 pounds) and Winky. Both those guys had the choice, pavlik especially has no one to blame since they wanted their "money fight" and figured b-hop would easily be KO'd at 43 years of age, after losing to Joe Blow at 175.

Trinidad was at 160 champion, oscar fought at 160 prior to hops (although he looked like ****) and challenged hopkins.

    So this theory is ****.

well if you watch the first fight, you can hear the commentators talking about roy's weight, and i do think he fought at smw beforehand
im def not saying roy was weight drained for either fight
i also think trinidad was comfortable enough at middleweight(roy said in an interview that he knew for a fact trinidad could make 160-163), and he also had a tune-up at the weight, so no excuses for losing to hop

i was just wonderin if it was coincidence, or some evil plot

              and your point?

Trinidad won his 160 pound belt by destroying William Joppy who was 32-1 at the time and considered amongst the elite at MW.

He was considered elite because he beat Shot Duran and Eastman?
