Just thinking about Haye vs Wlad and the conclusion i came to is............
Haye eats the jab because he leans (foward) into it when looking for the counter right hand, Wlad has a reach advantage and is very patient so i cant see Wlad committing to the jab and giving Haye the opportunity to counter over the top of with the right hand, Wlad never gives up his height so i can see him picking Haye off at will from longe range with the jab, particularly as Haye leans (foward) into it when looking to counter over the jab. I can see Haye waiting and waiting looking for that counter to come, only it never will because Wlad is too patient and cautious to commit and leave himself open, therefore i can see the wreckless Haye getting impatient and throwing that counter from too far out (falling short) and Wlad leaning back slightly and dropping the right hand on him, good night!
Haye's only chance from what i can see is to come out aggressively and look to try and get that right hand that he jumps in with off and see if he can get lucky with one wild haymaker over the top, having said that, that is even more risky than the first game plan of trying to counter Wlad, other than that i dont see many avenues for him to win.
Its pointless for a fighter to try and bait Wlad into giving up his height so he can counter because it wont happen, Wlad is too cautious for that, Wlad will dominate centre ring with the jab where if a counter is thrown at him he has lots of space behind him to where he can move back and counter. A defensive fighter or defensive tactics are not going to beat Wlad, not unless you have a considerably reach like him. Sam Peter showed the best way to get to Wlad is to get him out of centre ring and put him on the backfoot where he is uncomfortable and look KO him, as i said though, thats dangerous to, Peter himself almost got starched at the end with a hook off the jab.
