This has been covered in the history section in the past. I think on NSB we'll get different poll results as this forum tends to attract more fanboys than anything, and I think it's safe to say that many of the Pacquiao fanboys haven't seen much of Chavez, as many Filipino's never had any reason to follow boxing until Pacquiao got popular.

Chavez is one of the greatest fighters to have every walked the earth - 107 victories over his 26 year career.

Look at the resume of fighters he has faced and you will see that it trumps Manny easily.

Manny has great speed but I'm not sure I'd say he's as fast as Meldrick Taylor, who gave Chavez a hard time with his incredible speed, and was beating Chavez before the fight was stopped by the ref with only 2 seconds left.

Manny gets hit too easily by far lesser fighters. I don't know that Chavez could knock him out, but I did pick him to win a UD.

Manny has never faced a fighter close to the caliber of Chavez, but Chavez has fought and beat the likes of Edwin Rosario, Meldrick Taylor, and Hector Camacho to name a few.

The only fighters to beat Chavez were Pernell Whitaker, Oscar and Kostya Tszyu.

I think a prime Chavez would have beat DLH.

I think Manny may be ahead on the cards but Chavez could slowly break him down and drown his ass...

I haven't seen too much of prime Chavez...I think Manny could win a close decision in a possibly brutal fight...

If Pacquiao was disciplined enough to throw flurries and get outta range I think he would win a clear UD...but I think he will stay there at times and eat leather here and there...

          Presumably at 140?

Chavez is a legend but I think Pacquiao would have too much speed; he also throws more punches than JC and JC is very easy to hit. I actually rate Morales higher than Chavez. Morales was able to box-fight and beat Pac, his jab worked extremely well for him but Chavez only threw 10-15 jabs a round in most of his bouts. Pacquiao UD
