James toney is hardly underated. And as for B hop waiting till Roy was shot is nonsense. B hop tried his best to get the rematch with Roy a long time ago, but Roy would not budge. They never called him "Reluctant Roy" for nothing.

Roy didn't fight a lot of opponents that he should have while he was still prime, but Hopkins is not one of them. My dude Bernard had no business holding steadfast at 50-50. Roy would have been dumb for asking for anything less than 60-40.

Then why did Bernard pull out of the signed fight and never return to the negotiating table? Also I don't think Toney would of had problems with guys like Jermain Taylor. Although I know that today Fres Oquendo and Sam Peter would beat Bernard. Peter would likely crush him. Hopkins' signature wins are against little guys that are blown up in weight or killing themselves (Tarver) to get back down. Toney fights like a man, not a coward, and the general consensus is that Toney would of always schooled him due to their styles. Toney is much slicker, much faster, and tougher.
