I also didn't find anything racist with what he said nor did I find anything offensive.

However, I am not a Filipino and just cuz it didn't offend me, my peoples, or my culture does not mean it didn't offend millions of other people.

Good post. It seems like a lot of people are trapped in their own social and racial bubble. No one gets offended unless the shoe is on the other foot.

I remember when Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) starting dropping n-bombs at those two black dudes when he was doing stand up. I was offended and I am not even black. It's one thing to joke around in a playful context (I am a fan of Lopez and Chappelle), but Carolla was basically just criticizing the Philippines, with no humor at all.

It's an honorary degree. In other words, he's getting it because someone thought he should.
