Hopkins/Jones - Even - No "not in prime" Excuse Possible

Just want to say that for some of you making the excuse that Roy is far more shot than Hopkins and therefore is not in his prime, you can't use that as an excuse because guess what?
When they fought 17 years ago HOPKINS was not in his prime either, he was green and Jones WAS in his prime. So now it's even. Both fighters defeated each other when the other one was NOT in their prime. Only difference is this time they were far more even because Hopkins is obviously mostly shot too just like Jones.
So if anything Hopkins gets more credit out of their 2 matches and therefore goes down on the ATG list better placed than Jones.

hopkins/rjj II didn't prove anything. all it proved was that they both should retire.

Roy Jones was not in his prime in their first fight, and anyone that thinks he is is clearly wrong. It was his first title fight, just like Hopkins, and it wasn't even Roy's best weight.

Yeah. but I think you could made the argument that I'll take a fight when both fighters were young, over a fight when both fighters were old. In other words, I think the first fight was more legit than the rematch. But neither were that legit because they never fought when both were at their best...

Great argument. Everyone knows Jones best weight was 160.

Jones win over Hopkins in 93 was a nice win. Hopkins did go on to get better though.

Hopkins win over Jones in 2010 means nothing. Hopkins is past his prime now but Jones is even more past it.

There fight last night was simply a payday for both of them.
