Did any of yall see his fight yesterday? This kid has unlimited potential, whether it amounts to anything remains to be seen. but I like his style. His left hooks to the body are unrivaled right now at LHW.

meaningless trash talk. if b-hop wont fight chad, he definitely wont fight this guy.
its easy to mention names of fighters who have no intention of fighting them.

that being said. sillakh is the goods, he'll be giving chad a run for his money by the end of '11.
            expect him to move fast.

doubt it. there's little to dislike about this kid.
he's one of the most complete prospects in boxing AND he has an exciting, but intelligent style.
                he's a killer.

Why would you say that? Just because hes tall with a good jab, good hand speed, good power, great body punching, self confidence and an exciting style?

good hand speed, good ring intelligence, power in both hands, stiff jab, devastating body puncher, understands distance, calm ring demeanor, good reflexes, knows how to set up punches, good hand and foot coordination, etc.

IMO, he's comparable to the cubans who spent all those yrs in the AMs. had over 300 wins in the AMs and he fought the majority of those fights with a pro style.
IOW, he's very polished for a prospect.

In Ismayl's defense he was caught between two promoters talking **** about eachother. It's not as if he just came out for no reason and said he'd beat bernard.
With both main event fighters in the hospital, the post fight press conference featured an interesting exchange between Shaefer and Ivaylo Gotzev, manager of unbeaten Ismayl Sillakh (12-0, 11 KOs) who defeated Daniel Judah (23-5-3, 10 KOs) earlier in the evening.

Gotzev called Hopkins a grumpy old man during the presser which got under the skin of the Golden Boy CEO.

“There was no class at all (in your statement) and I’m not surprised,” Schaefer stated. “If you want to make these kinds of statements, you are in the wrong business.”

Gotzev responded by calling Schaefer a “banker” who looks out for his bottom line over his fighter’s health before issuing a challenge to both Schaefer and Hopkins.

“You actually sound like a grumpy old man,” Gotzev retorted. “So why don’t we put Bernard Hopkins in the ring against Ismayl Sillakh. I’m ready to do it!”

The Ukrainian Sillakh was caught in the middle of the crossfire but made his statement loud and clear.

“I respect Bernard Hopkins,” Sillakh explained. “But if that fight happened, I would beat him. I am ready for a world title right now. I’m ready. It’s my time.”
