most definitely not overrated. one of the most gifted boxers in the history of the sport, held back only by mental issues inside and outside of the ring. even now i think that he could still beat most of the top heavyweights, if he was in shape and mentally focused.

hate to say it about a fellow Irishman, but McBride is on a suicide mission with respect to the upcoming fight with Tyson.

Not over rated a prime Tyson gives any heavyweight in history a run for their money. Tyson post Douglas still dangerous but thats how he is looked at being a bigger puncher, but a shadow of his former self. Still he is and never was over
        ated.

I dont think Tyson was ever overated even in his prime. I mean he was the youngest heavyweight champion, he fought anyone that was out there. Its just that the heavy weight devision was and still is weak. His speed and power in his prime were just crazy, I saw a video of him shadow boxing it was crazy..he looked like Zab Judah as far as speed is concerened and his head movement was great foot work was great. chin is great as well, he took punches from Razor Ruddock and Ruddock hit crazy hard and was much bigger than him. In his prime he would lay Holyfield out and I love Holyfield but its the truth. Im still impresed with Tyson I mean the guy has been through so much and he is still a threat, I love watching Tyson fight..

Buster douglas cleaned his clock, holyfield whooped his ass, lewis destroyed his face, Danny Williams "shocked the........." oh wait by this time it was no shock at all, i mean come on this guy even got beat by his Girl Robin Givens. So that is why i say he is overated. Great knockout artist, tenatious fighter, but no heart or skill.
What? Do you disagree.? Tell me why
No man, how can he be overated? He could have been the best heavyweight fighter of all time had he handled himself well. Those loses you mentioned happend because he was a disataer waiting to happen. He lost douglas because he was chasing skirts in japan the night before the fight. He lost to holyfield because he was unprepared. An earlier tyson could have eaten holyfield alive as well as all the other fighters you mentioned.

marketing ability: completely UNDERrated, he should still be getting at least $10 million per fight with all of the sell-out crowds he draws, combined with better-than-average PPV #'s, but Skelly Finkel and Showtime now get that $$$ rather than Mike
Sac Town thinks there is a relation between power and accuracy. Ok ill explain it to you. Power (which we know he has from previous fights) is when your punch makes an impact on the opponent. Accuracy is basically the chance of a shot landing. U got that now? kool.

Yeah but as far as his skills went, he was over-rated.

I think Tyson's most significant win in his career was the two victories over Razzor Ruddock. Anyone of better class beat him.

He was definatly an exciting fighter!

I think a lot of the hype surrounding Mike Tyson is the "Myth". But as far as career acheivements and how and when and by whom he got beaten by, it's doesn't look top class.

It depends who your talking to really, if your talking to a fan they will say no but if your talking to a hater they are obviously going to say yes.
