Also, people should note Dirrell was warned at least 6 times for holding. I went back and watched it carefully - the ref was even going to Dirrell's corner and warning him specifically that'll he will take a point away for holding. Which he did when Dirrell continued to do so.
Also, if you are going to hold on to an opponent and dip low during combat you are going to get struck in the side and the back of the head. Froch actually hit Dirrell mostly in the side of the head when people say he rabbit punched him (there were very few punches to the back of the head). I mean there was one point when Dirrell started one of his hugging fits and Froch was dooig anything he could to slam the right hand into Dirrell's face and sie of his head - which he did at least 3 times. Dirrell was just holding tighter and complaining to the referee and trying to officiate the fight himself - bad move when your opponent is striking you, breaking out of the clinch, striking you again and building points.
The referee actually did a very good job in the fight. Everything controversial came from Dirrell's vastly excessive holding - which the referee rightly punished with a point deduction. I see no problem.
Fight was mostly even - some good hard shots landed by both. Dirrell was negative until the 10th round - backing away with lots of skipping around and running. Rounds split evenly - point deduction leads to a 114-113 Froch win.
i wouldnt bother wasting your time. iv already shown him that video, and he claims dirrell didnt land anything in that video! lol. as i said earlier, it must have been the wind snapping froch's head back!
