Here’s a little John Ruiz story for you guys….
John Ruiz was born in Methuen, Massachusetts and grew up in suburb of Boston called Chelsea (he now lives in Las Vegas). When he was amateur and early on in his professional career he lived there and become somewhat of a local hometown hero…
So, about 8-9 years ago, I was in my early 20’s, still in college, and was dating this girl who happened to live in Chelsea. I had spent the night over her house; so I left her house and walked over to the bus stop on Washington Street. As I’m waiting for the bus, I see this news van with a camera set up on a platform of back of it, followed by the one and only John “The Quiet Man” Ruiz running behind it! He was preparing for his upcoming fight with Evander Holyfield and doing his morning roadwork. It just a random sighting that I’ll never forget…Comment
