    Kid Diamond vs Joel Cassamayor

KID DIAMOND (Almazbek Raiymkulov)is fighting Joel Cassamayor on the under card of Cotto Abdulev.

Here he is knocking down the guy he fought in his last fight:

Has anyone else seen much of Raiymkulov?

What are his chances agaisnt a seasoned Cassamayor?

He looks powerful, but if Cassamayor took punishment from Corrales Castillo and Frietas, it's hard to believe Diamond's power alone would be enough for an upset...

I haven't heard or seen much of this Kid Diamond guy but if Casamayor comes in prepared he should win this fight. Casamayor seems to have slipped a few notches these last couple of years though.

Kid Diamond is a bad brawler that's an uncouth version of Kostya. He even has the same haircut. This guy could go places if he polishes his game a bit. Or else he could go the way of Mayorga.

Watching his fights you are reminded of Tszyu, the way he shuffles aroung the ring and delivers those devastating blows that end a fight in a hurry. Of course he is taking a big step in terms of opposition, but I think the idea here is that Cayamayor is on his way down and is a big name Kid can beat to make a name for himself. Of course whether or not that happens remains to be seen.

I don't really see that as being true. He's only lost razor thin decesions to elite fighters. He beat Corrales the 1st time, and their 2nd fight was very close, as was his fight with Castillo.

If Casamayor is comes in anything but his best he will lose, for example a performance like the one against Daniel Seda will get him thrashed...

There should be a lot of Diamond talk after the 11th.

Cassamayor will prove to be to quick and to skilled. I can see Kid Diamond looking pretty bad in this fight.

Casa is one of the best counterpunchers in boxing. If he comes to the fight...in shape: I dont see how Diamond will be able to catch him. He has the best counter-uppercutt in boxing IMO. He is fast, and if he hurts Diamond, I think he will finish him.

I think Casa stops him late in the fight.

Today's factoid: Almazbek means diamond (he's from Krgyzstan, so I assume it's in Krgyz). That's where the nickname comes from.

His speed, reflexes and movement are not the same as they were two or three years ago.

Casamayor is out of this kids league. He can definitely take a big shot and is as slick as they come. Joel will take an easy decision or stop him late.

If I'm wrong and KD beats Casa then we might have a new contender in boxing.
