At a suprise press conference today at the Millenium stadium in Cardif,Wales only days after the revelations of ******* use former
Undisputed Super MiddleWeight King and Simultaneous Two Division Lineal Champion
(Ring Magazine Super Middle & Light Heavyweight Titles)Joe Calzaghe
announced that the stage has been set for his long awaited and anticipated comeback....
Calzaghe hasn't fought since November 8th 2008 in a dominating performance against former
four division champion and Pound for Pound Number One of the 90's Roy Jones Jr.
The fight against Froch finally came to fruition after Froch's entry in the Showtime SuperMiddleweight Boxing Classic Tournament.
This will be the first of three fights before Calzaghe finally
call's time on his career for good.
Amazingly the conracts for all three of Calzaghe's final fights have
already been signed after three months of intensive negotiations although due to scheduling conflicts the dates are still being negotiated...
Calzaghe will once again lace up his gloves to fight WBC SuperMiddleweight Champion
Carl Froch at the Millelenium stadium on a date TBA in a grudge match that has been
3/4 years in the making.
"At the end of the day I've had no real focus in my life since I retired from boxing and I came to realise that boxing is in my blood and the itch may always be there"
"Im glad he took the fight, he obviously thinks he's gonna knock me out but at the end of the day he's not in my league"
"Carl has done well for himself since becoming a champion and had the opportunity to prove he could bark and bite but was seriously made to look foolish by a well skilled up and coming American in Andre Dirrel, a fight in my opinion that looked like a wrestler vs
boxer exhibition bout, he was lucky to retain the title"
If Calzaghe is succesfull in reclaiming the WBC SuperMiddleweight crown he
will imediately vacate and once again fight at Light HeavyWeight in a showdown against
current IBO Light Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson In a defense of the Ring Light Heavyweight title which Calzaghe still holds at the MGM Grand,Las Vegas on a date TBA....
The info on the last fight of Calzaghe's career hasn't yet been leaked although the Rumor
circulating at the moment is a possible Calzaghe move up to either Cruiser or HeavyWeight for a bout with current reigning WBA heavyweight king David Haye in an all british showdown...
Should Calzaghe win all three of these fights in convincing style he may possibly be remembered as one of the all time greatest prizefighters to ever enter the squared
circle...
