WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch recently spoke with shortlist.com about his upcoming fight with Mikkel Kessler on April 24 in Denmark. Over the last two years, he waged a war of words with Joe Calzaghe. The fight never took place. Froch knew the fight was off the table when Calzaghe retired in early 2009. During the interview, Froch said he was quite confident Calzaghe would have been knocked out if the two of them met in the ring. [Click Here To Read More]

Calslappy is a ***** who's biggest wins were against two old and over the hill fighters (Hopkins and Jones) and I thought Hopkins could have easily won the fight had he tried a little harder. The fact Calslappy couldn't knock Jones out just shows how pathetic his power is. Joe would get put to school by the super 6 tournament.Comment

Froch has run his mouth to the point that JC should have given him a fight, regardless if Froch was a worthy opponent or not, just to shut him up.
Same thing happened with Haye. The Klits were not interested in him, but he ran his mouth so much that in the end, they wanted to shut him really bad.
If Froch ever fares well in the tournament (which I don't think he will), JC should come out of retirement and humiliate him.Comment

What Calzaghe did with Jones was carried a legendary champion to the end of the fight out of respect. He had no beef or personal vendetta against him; the fight was purely for money.
Of the three, Calzaghe is/was simply the best.
I laugh when people pull the "he fought two old guys" argument after watching what Hopkins did to Tarver, Wright, and Pavlik. Calzaghe was 36 after all; for a guy who relies on speed and stamina and had been boxing for 18 years to that point, that's pretty damned impressive. Anyone can tell you that those are the first two things to go.
Anyone who insults his boxing ability is simply a moron. There are no opinions about it; the man is simply the greatest to ever fight at 168, and a top ten all-time if we blend the 175 pound class into the fold.
I say this as an American who was rooting for both Hopkins and Jones to knock his smug, coked-up chin into oblivion.Comment
