Abraham and Dirrel fight the DQ

I was watching the fight this past Saturday and thinking to myself just how small King Arthur is at SMW. I was thinking to myself if only Dirrell fought this way with Froch but then again Froch is miuch bigger than King Arthur. Well besides the size difference there was the speed which was most evident and confidence Dirrell had in the first 6 rounds or so. To me every so often you would see some fear in his eyes though. I thought both corners gave good instructions and the fighters responded as well. The only issue I had with King Arthur and I thought it would have made a huge difference was the lack of the use of his own jab. Also he was not timing Dirrell on those switches in his stance where Dirrell would fire off the straight left hnad while moving his feet. I thought a good over hand right would have dropped him seeing as he was off balance at times. All in all Dirrell fought the perfect fight and won me over as a fan.

On the other hand Abraham showed tremendous vulnerability and frustration in not being able to catch the speed young fighter. I thought in the last two rounds he was coming on and had Dirrell on the run but besides being the much faster guy I think Abraham underestimated Dirrell's strength. The reff in my eyes was horrible breaking up the fight at the wrong times and missing knock downs and other fouls. To me this was one fight where they should have been allowed to just fight it could have been much more exciting with Smoger as the reff just IMO.

The foul that got King Arthur DQ's was VERY warranted unless the blood was in his right eye and he really couldn't see (i know me for one have never had blood dripping in my eyes for 4-5 rounds) it was done on purpose. I at first didn't think Dirrell was going to be KO'd kind of a delayed reaction on the replay you could see his eyes roll but I was still not so convinced he was really out.....Lefty

That's the first I've thought of the blood in Abraham's eye. At first glance, Dirrell did appear to be crouching, and the ref must've been in his happy place. Plus if Dirrell had beaten the count, the fight would've continued.

Blood in his eye or not. AA committed a blatant foul and got DQ'ed as deserved.
