I thought Spinks won a close decision, by the way I like your signature.
Yeah, I think a close decision for Spinks is really the fair judgment- especially if neither of the knockdowns is counted. And thanks for the compliment on the signature.
mayorga didnt want another fight wiht spinks becuase spinks would be running..mayorga went with a tuneup then trinidad
Mayorga DIDwant another fight with Spinks he wanted it badly, he said he would put on some roller skates and catch up with Spinks in the re match and KO him. But Don King was eyeing Mosley at the time and wanted Mayorga to move up to 154, and he did it for the $$. But Mosley lost to Winky, but before that loss there was a lot of talk of a Mosley/Mayorga match. Then Tito had no one to fight a warm up fight with so DON KING wanted Mayorga to jump two weight classes and fight tito but gave him a warm up with Eric Mitchell at 154. It all part of DON KING master plan..he wanted a champ at 147 at 154 and at 160. And if your a fighter who is poor but with big cojenes it don't matter who they put in front of you if the money is right.
As for the Spinks fight. Orlando had some issues, 5 times the guy is running away and falling and some of those were legit Knock Downs. And the whole holding thing, Ruiz wouldn't win a round if Oralando reffed his fight. But its part of boxing...thats why a fighter has to take matters into their own hands, Mayorga should have cut the ring off and knock him out...plan and simple.

The problem was Mayorga couldn't effectively cut off the ring. The knockdown in the 12th should have been called a knockdown but the one before that wasn't a knockdown. On the replay you can see Mayorga clearly missing and Spinks went down while he was slipping the punch.
I've only seen that fight once due to the fact it was so boring, but I would have given the decision to Mayorga. It seemed like he was the only one who wanted to fight. Spinks just attempted to box just enough try and steal few rounds by the skin in his teeth. IN my book you don't become a unified champion by not comming to fight.
