I love that Dirrell is a superhero all of the sudden. The difference between Jones Jr and Dirrell is that in 5 years you'll be pitting some random fighter coming off a big win against Jones Jr. in a fantasy fight, not Dirrell.

Roy doesnt beat him easy. But he does beat him.
        He isn't faster.

        He isn't more powerful.

        He isn't more elusive.

        He doesn't have better stamina.

He doesn't throw combinations like Roy.

Edit: Not too mention the stamina differential.

What happens when Dirrell starts getting tired and lazy in the 10th?

I am absolutely not hating on Dirrell. He is very talented and should have a great career.

I simply mean to point out that the greatest are the greatest for a reason. Nothing Dirrell did on saturday warrants his fantasy defeat of a prime RJJ.

We (the boxing community as a whole) tend to do this with every fighter coming off a win. If Dirrell is suddenly good enough to beat RJJ, then Froch must be able to as well and honestly, in my opinion, Ward is faster and more talented than Dirrell so he must absolutely crush RJJ.

The greatest are the greatest for a reason. We remember them and pit them against current fighters ages after their prime for a reason. They were so good that they are relevant even now. They are a benchmark. I don't see Dirrell becoming a SMW benchmark we use 10 years from now.

Dirrell probably won't be a benchmark 10 weeks from now as someone else in the division will beat someone else and they will be able to beat any SMW in the history of the sport.

Dirrell is more athletic, faster, skilled and just a better fighter then Griffin.

                Dirrell would wax Griffin.
