"Cotto Better Be willing To Be Trained" - Callejas and Siaca

    Cotto will have to focus

According to several experts, no room for indiscipline with trainer Emanuel Steward
    BY JOSEPH A. SÁNCHEZ FOURNIER jose.sanchez @ elnuevodia.com

T he selection of new trainer Emanuel Steward as it was right for Miguel Cotto, provided that the **** is willing to focus one hundred percent in their prior to challenge for the title Yuri Foreman 154 pounds of the World Boxing Association ( AMB), June 5 at Yankee Stadium in New York.

So yesterday felt boxing experts consulted by this newspaper yesterday.

"Emanuel is going to say what to do. You're going to put pressure, "said the veteran coach toabajeño Manny Siacca, father, gather on the Cotto-Steward, who will be formally announced next week when the former monarch begins his training in Tampa.

"If Cotto is 'ready' to train mentally as it should, is a good change," he added Siacca.
    Polls

What do you think that Ricky Martin has made public his ****sexuality?
It's your life. If you are happy, that's fine.
It negatively affects the image of Puerto Rico.
    Say

That view was shared by Victor 'Ludwig' Calleja, former junior featherweight champion and current WBA member of the Boxing Commission of Puerto Rico.

"Manny is an excellent coach. Mainly respect brings to the table. We must do what he says, "Calleja said. "I saw him training and I know how tight it is. If you do not obey him, grabs his bags and leaves. It's a guy who knows, "said the former boxer, on Steward, who replaced Joe Santiago as the head on the corner of Cotto.

However, Santiago, a friend of many years of Cotto, will remain in your workgroup.

Calleja said that when he was a professional boxer, studied in detail the style of work of Steward, as the veteran coach of Michigan he proposed to train him.

"Before I become champion, made a fight in Detroit," said Calleja, who on November 8, 1980 he knocked in two assaults on Pedro Garcia in Detroit.

"For those days Tommy Hearns had won the title (WBA welterweight on 2 August that year, also in Detroit against Jose" Pipino "Cuevas) and the two were on the bulletin board.

"He talked and he offered to train me," said Calleja. "No coach grabbed him because I did not speak much English and he did not speak much Spanish. But I think that's going to be a problem for Michael, "he continued 'Ludwig'. "He mastered the vocabulary of English boxing."

For the coach Orlando Cuellar, one of the candidates that were considered for Cotto to take the head coaching job after the loss to Manny Pacquiao showy, hiring Steward assures the **** you have in your corner a person willing to take decisions and accept responsibility.

"Manny has credentials as any other coach," said Cuellar. "Know what is the science of this sport, and what really means to prepare the boxer. And it is famous, that gives her confidence to Cotto.

"We do not need much help, because as a boxer Cotto is a monster," said Cuellar.

"Of course I would have preferred that they chose me."

Siacca Calleja and agreed that the difference in the day of the fight will not be the knowledge of Steward, but Cotto's attitude at the time of obeying the new coach.

"It depends on how Cotto wants to train, because Emanuel is not going to get into it to train it. If Cotto does not do what they say, is their problem, "said Siacca.

"A Cotto can train anyone, because it is good for more. What happens is you have to ignore. Putting pa 'their numbers. "

The attitude problems and lack of discipline to train when you have taken a toll on Cotto in the key moments of his career, felt both.

"Many times, Michael was working in disgust. That's what everybody saw, "said Calleja, who sees the entry of Steward as an injection of positive attitude on the corner of former champion 140 and 147 pounds.

"But if you do not know that Emanuel Steward has to do what he says, he hears now. I've always said that as a boxer at the moment you arrive you do not learn more, "said 'Ludwig'. "If you follow the guidelines Steward, Cotto comes to fight Foreman in excellent condition. But to learn something new, I do not. Miguel and is molded to your fighting style.

"It's the same with Foreman", compared the commissioner.

"We can look at Steward, to Floyd Mayweather, Sr., and Freddie Roach, and do not make more stuck".

"With that one is born. As Cotto, "he said Calleja.

Stewart was supposed to train for a few weeks to Foreman to help you develop more power in his fists.

However, although it had an agreement with Foreman, Stewart accepted an offer to be their coach Cotto property.

First Foreman, Cotto will be looking for the championship of his career and third in different divisions.

Cotto reigned as monarch of the OMB 140 pounds and 147 pounds of the WBA and WBO (in different periods).

That article was incredibly hard to read. I thought Cotto was more disciplined and had a great work ethic.
