Roy fought "bin men". First of all when you write like that you come across as a pole smoker.
Secondly, you'll note that none of these bitter jealous of America (why I don't even know) fanqueens can name any of these bums that Roy fought other than Ricky Frazier.
It's a cute joke but boring and played out. Shall we name all the ******s and bums that their hero Mr. Joe Calzage (pre Cokehead) fought?

The Calzaghe-Jones proposed fight back in 2000 didn't really make much sense, Joe expected Jones to move back down to 168 lbs, which isn't a realistic demand to make. Also if you want the big fights you are going to have to go out of your way to make them, like Tarver did with Jones. Calzaghe never did that, he could of at least defended his belt in America, to get some interest in the fight, but he never did that either.

RJJ was exceptional. Maybe the greatest talent boxing has seen since SRR, and certainly since Ali. Unbeatable? No. But extremely tough to beat.
His punch resistance isnt the best, but is that a matter now of aging, or did he just not face a big enough banger in the days gone by? These are the questions we will always ask.
Legend.

Your Tarver analogy is right and something I've been saying for years. You could get a fight with Roy if there wasn't much money in it for Roy as long as you MADE him fight you or you gave him a reason to (a belt or title defense).
LOL@Joe fans.

Not on the post fight Mic mind you but usually in interviews in obscure British sports rags.
That counts right?

against mostly bums he looked unbeatable but not against good boxers
i mean we can argue this for days. the fact is.....during his prime he was NEVER beaten (with the exception of his DQ)
go look at the records of his opponents......a lot of them were UNDEFEATED in like 20 plus fights b4 fighting roy. they were champs and he took their belts.
technically, roy is a farmer....i mean, he raises horses (and races them) and roosters and he does that more frequently than he boxes, boxing is his "part time" job. i mean...hell almost all boxers have some other type of occupation besides boxing.
don't believe all the hate....read the records.
