  • Why do you love BOXING?

Threading through the action, before, during and sometimes,AFTER many fights, is boxing talk! Seldom can one find better lines written or spoken in any other sport! MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL...only have tea party conversations compared to boxing! The ones one reads on this site illustrates the point. Besides, on those times when we don't get good matches, the talk can get us pretty occupied...

I love boxing because of the fact that 2 men (or women, but i dont watch that) get in the ring and put everything on the line. It is the sport which requires the most bravery. To most i am a young boxing fan. The first fight I ever saw was the first Holyfield/Tyson fight, and it changed me. It made me a blood thirsty rabid boxing fanatic. I'm not crazy, you are! Who said that?!?!?

      ya

cuz theres different things taht make a boxer

      some boxers are really fast
      some boxers strong
      some are really conditioned
      some can take shots
      some slug
      some run

and theres lot of things that make up a good boxer
      theres bunch of different styles
and it dont matter how talented u are
it's bout how much u want it and how hard u work
in tha ring if tha other boxer has more skill
u keep fighting cuz theres always a chance
it aint like basketball tha other guy gets tha ball in with his eyes closed and u shoot and u always miss
it aint baseball where u either hit tha ball or not
      boxing is more thinking
baseball u hit tha ball u run (GAY!)
in boxing, everyone has strengths and everyone has weakness's
no boxer has tha most speed, tha most power, tha most stamina, best agility, best skill
everyone has positive and negative and u gotta work on tha negative to become a great fighter

soldiers work together as a team, they need each other to accomplish there task, but thats the difference between soldiers and warriors. warriors are always visible on the battlefield because they stand alone, they are the strongest. team sports show the heart of a team but boxing shows the heart of just one person, **** the team, i wanna see how much is inside of one person. thats courage, thats heart and that makes real champions.

Good question, big daddy. Here's my answer.

You've got yourself and the other guy and that's it. No team to fall back on or to blame. If you lose, its your fault alone. If you win, the victory is all yours. Boxers are among the greatest athletes on the planent. No fat assed lineman or lazy baseball player could hold a candle to a pro boxer in terms of athletecism. Any sport that is comprised of only one participant each, is, in my opinion, above other sports. Sure there's something to be said for teamwork and making great things happen becuase 11 people worked together or whatever, and that's all well and good, but in the trenches is where it counts. Boxing, Wrestling (the real wrestling), Martial arts, Kickboxing, Track and field, triathlon, and hell, even tennis and golf rate higher for me than team sports, because whatever happens, happens becuase of you and no one else. Unless you get drugged like Wlad did. But that's foul play. (What? Foul play in boxing??? Never!!)
