I'm going to lie, I always enjoyed watching Barrera.
The fact that he didn't come from your traditional background and still chose to become a fighter....I was taken by that, TBH.
But I can see where you two are coming from.Comment

me too, I always thought it was cool how Barrera was working towards becoming a lawyer and was a pro-boxer at the same time (same reason why I first became a fan of Juan Diaz) but hearing some of the stuff Barrera says in interviews he does come off as a racist and an elitist
he's still a great fighter thoughComment

Amir Khan - Average fighter with Mayweather's ego. Has done virtually nothing in the sport and gets red carpet treatment and millions of unearned dollars, yet bitches about people not hugging his hyped ass even more due to his race and religion.
That's about it. Any other fighter I'm fine with, on a "personal level".Comment

Jake LaMotta: sociopathic rapist. The movie made him look like a saint compared to his own autobiography.
Eric Morel: rapist
Tony Ayala Jr: rapist
Ike Ibeabuchi: rapist. Also paralyzed a kid.
Jo-El Scott: murdering rapist
James Butler: murderer, sucker-punched opponent after the fight ended.
Edwin Valero: beats up his mom, sister, and wife.
Does Edwin Valero really beat up his mom and his sister? I would hate anyone that did that.Comment

Valero's always getting arrested for beating up female members of his household.
He's supposed to be going to rehab for alcoholism. I guess he's a violent drunk.Comment
