If the punch didn't KO Dirrell...

And he got up ready to go, do you think the fight would have continued?

I do. I think a large part of the reason he was DQ'd is because he knocked Dirrell out, this kind of **** happens a lot and not every time is someone DQ'd.

Yeah but AA wouldve been deducted like 2 points.

And Dirrell would have gotten 5 minutes to recover.

oh yea maybe a point deducted. But dirrell bitched out and found the easy way out. It would have been fun watching Abe go crazy in there. Anyway the right man still won so whatever.

Yea I think Dirrell just would have been on his bike like he was doing in the 11th, it would have gone on for sure had Dirrell been ok.

He got put to sleep so the fight could obviously not go on, since it was a foul that ended it no other way to go (IMO). If he could have gone on I am pretty sure he would have because he had done really well in the fight and he probably wanted to win on his feet and celebrate instead of going to the hospital.

Yes, most likely. This has happened in fights in the past and when the fighter gets back up, it allows the ref to keep the fight going. It's when the fighter is down and out or seriously hurt where 5 minutes wouldn't be long enough, it is out of the ref's hands so....DQ.

The ref had no choice but to DQ him.

If an illegal blow renders the other fighter unable to continue, then it is an automatic disqualification.

yea, i mean, why not? of course it would've and dirrell would have walked his way towards a wide UD and great celebration.

but thanks to king ******* that was a bittersweet night for andre.. imagine dominating your opponent like that and the fight ending in such way! you didnt get a chance to celebrate and you didn't enjoy it at all after so months of training for it!

He would have rightfully complained about it, but the fight would have continued and the hurt Dirrell would have had to go into survival mode for the rest of that round.

I really do think the final two rounds would have ended up looking something like the finale of Bute/Andrade I.

It happened in the Jones/Griffin fight also. If Dirrell would had got up with shaky legs and allowed to fight to get KOed it would had brought another set of criticism
