Originally posted by oldgringoWrong. Cotto has quicker hands, a much tighter defense, WAY more intelligence (sans Corley fight), and he has consistant power. I don't think Cotto will really be much of a 1 punch KO guy, but his body attack is lethal and he can definitely put you on ***** street with one of those left hooks. Cotto is an excellent counter puncher too.
All that being said, we haven't seen any of this against Mayweather caliber guys so the jury is still out. I'd give you 300 million points though if PBF slapped Cotto around like a school-boy though. That would definitely never happen.
I never questioned his level of skill. Of course he's a better fighter than Bruseles, but they basically have the same style. It was evident in the Bruseles fight. They're both trained by the same person. As far as Cotto/Floyd, we'll have to wait until that comes to fruition. However, if they meet, I see Floyd handing him his first loss if he's still undefeated.Comment

Looking at it completely unbiased I'd say that Floyd has the advantage, but then again Floyd hasn't taken on anyone as big, strong, and skilled as Cotto.
I'd give Floyd the leg up but I'd say that Cotto would drop Floyd late and would stop him inside 12. Hopefully this fight comes off.Comment

LMAO, I totally agree. Cotto isn't quick enough to consistently land clean shots on Floyd.Comment

Oh but Castillo is?
I think Cotto is a bigger scarier version of Castillo with better skills and handspeed. Castillo is just so good now because he is so experienced and knows his game perfectly, something Cotto does not quite know yet.Comment

Kevin Kelley aka OldGringo, Demarcus Corley fought both guys and he said it himself that Cotto would never beat Floyd.Comment
