I thought it was pretty obvious Dirrell was hurtinComment

Idk Webb, I thought he looked hurt and would of given AA a good chance of finishing him. No doubt it was a bonehead move to hit him while he was down tho.
I don't think anyone was really convinced he was that hurt...just by looking how his corner was acting afterwards and no sense of urgency, I mean he was on the mat in "convulsions"!?Comment

I remember seeing it live and I honestly felt like he was hurt. I mean, he was had just slipped and was totally unguarded and got hit with a flush shot, by a puncher! IMO, he was hurt.Idk Webb, I thought he looked hurt and would of given AA a good chance of finishing him. No doubt it was a bonehead move to hit him while he was down tho.

i think the punch hurt too, but not to the extent he tried to make it seem.
c'mon now. convulsions? confusion? pain in his head? but yet his own corner was shaking him like a rag doll inside the ring "convincing" him that he won.Comment

Idk but Dirrell could have been acting. He obviously got hit while he was on the floor & its not an automatic DQ if a fighter hits another fighter while he's down. Its in the rules but it doesn't always happen. If u remember the 1st Pacquiao & Marquez fight, during the 3rd knockdown of the 1st round, Manny hit Marquez while he was on the ground & didn't get DQ'd. & Margarito also hit Cotto while he was down when he took a knee for the 2nd time in the 11th round. The difference here is that in this match, the ref felt he had no choice but 2 DQ Abraham because of the way Dirrell reacted 2 the punch. It was a delayed reaction which is normal & often times happens. Its just something about it that didn't look 100% genuine 2 me. I don't wanna sit here & say that Andre acted more hurt than he really was just 2 make sure he got the win. That's not fair 2 him. He clearly was up on points but the momentum of the fight was shifting. Arthur knew he needed a knockout & he was charging foward looking for it. It could have been that Dirrell was wearing down, felt he couldn't finish the last 2 rounds on his feet & when he got hit while on the ground, made the blow he received look more devastating then it really was, prompting the DQ. I've seen the **** like 10 times & I still can't make up mind. No1 knows how hurt he really was but Andre Dirrell himself.Last edited by King Ju-Ju; 03-29-2010, 10:19 AM.Comment

That shot was not flush, and it wasnt particularly hard. I dont know if he was acting, and I would give him the benefit of the doubt about that, but that shot didnt look much at all.
Too much emotional nonsense about this, the DQ was fair but the crying from both sides is frankly ridiculous.Comment

If you get kayoed so badly to the point where you start having convulsions, you sure as **** dont get discharged from the hozzy 3 hours later.Comment

i know, he was displaying symptoms of someone having a brain injury which was why the docs in the post-fight interviews expressed concern that he might have bleeding on the brain. dirrell made sure to let everyone know that "his head really hurts."Comment
