    Comparing Dirrell-Abraham to Soto-Lorenzo

Do you guys think that these KOs came during similar situations? A fighter, by instinct, throwing a punch while the guys down? For all the falling and getting pushed around by Froch, I can imagine Dirrell dipping his head down that low while standing up, instead of being on a knee like he was when he slipped.

I've stood up for Dirrell (in not faking, the faking accusations are ridiculous) and Abraham (for not being dirty) after this fight. However, comparing the outcomes of the Soto fight to the Abraham fight makes me wonder if Soto's disqualification was justified.

While watching the Soto fight, I believe I thought it was ridiculous he had been DQ'd. Lorenzo was getting beat up and was ready to quit. While taking a knee, Soto continues throwing a punch that was already in motion, and instead of pulling it, lands it on the back of Lorenzo's head. Soto gets disqualified. What did I want at the time? I think a Soto KO....

Fast forward to last night. This time, Dirrell's putting on one hell of a performance. He's clearly winning on the scorecards and then, in a quick moment, slips in the corner of the ring (as opposed to Lorenzo's kneel). While down, Abraham tags him with a brutal KO punch. While I do think it would be hard to pull that punch, I can't see Abraham being rewarded with a KO victory for that..

What are these guys complaining about? Why are they protesting? Do they think it will be changed to an actual KO or just a ND...

How would you guys handle both situations and what separates the outcomes?

    Neither DQ was justified.

Dirrell and Lorenzo were both acting, both referees were crooked.

Abraham was rightly disqualified. There was a significant amount of time before Dirrell dropped and him hitting Dirrell very hard with a head turning punch.

Lorenzo didn't even get hit by the hook that was a legitimate ending punch of a combination. This is different to Abraham's wild swing that came off no other punch.
