he got hit square on the jaw that snapped his head to the side by one of the hardest punchers in the game, while on the ground, completely defenseless and had no idea a shot was coming. That's the worst possible time/place to get hit.

and since he hit the ground I doubt that Dirrell was biting on his mouthpiece, which makes it easier to KO Dirrell

The reason it may look fake was the immediate reaction on his face after he got hit. To me though it looks real for a couple reasons and I will give my two cents in here.

1: After he was hit right after he slipped, he immediately put his hands down instead of up to protect himself. Instinct would demand him to place his hands up for cover if he was still in a workable mental state.

2: It looked delayed, but he was already basically on his ass, so there was no legs to give way immediately. Motor skills are the first to go, but he was already down and then basically started fading out.
