probably one of the worst refs in the game right now...he's lucky his pops is one of the higher ups in the TSAC...i have no faith in him as a ref

when i ran into Kenny Bayless in Vegas, we talked about Cole and his questionable actions and without trying to trash his colleague, he pretty much shares the same views as fight fans when it comes to Cole

    the guy is an idiot

It is the referee's responsibility to intercede between downed fighters, to break the action in the event of a slip, knockdown or other event.
Lawerence Cole was nowhere near the fighters at the time of the slip/knockdown and dropped the ball. He also made countless other errors that evening, most notably incorrect judgement calls on slips and knockdowns.

I think Abraham's quote sums it up:
"I wish him all the best and hope he is fine. I thought I could still punch because the referee did not stop us. In the heat of the moment I was not watching his feet but only his head. As a professional boxer, you always try and pressure."

All that said, props to Dirrell for putting on a good performance, but I am still questioning whether his reaction to the punch was legitimate. Also, why the hell does he fall down so much?
This fight was another taint on the Super 6 tournament.
I posted this on another thread.

Just out of interest did anyone else notice that the ref was nearly ALWAYS standing directly behind Abraham. It was like he made a point to position himself behind Abraham every time. This might just be my thought, but a big emphasis was put on the ref and officials used in the fight after Dirrell's camp complained about the Froch decision. If he was positioned behind Abraham how could he possibly penalise Dirrell for a low blow or any foul?? It happened quite a few times, so many times it immediately crossed my mind during the fight. He missed a few low blows and even a legitimate Knock down. How can anyone miss that?? The refs overall performance was dreadful and nobody can deny that. I just hope it wasnt premediated because if it was Dirrell got what he deserved.

Agreed 100%, he is one of the worst refs IMO.

People who are counting Abraham out already, just wait and watch when he KO's Carl Froch.

It is odd how often Dirrell skips. Floyd Mayweather moves all the time and doesnt slip like that. So do many other fighters.

          Very strange.

                That's a good point.

Reminds me of Nady during Barrera-Marquez.
