Ortiz didn't fight ******. He found himself in the ring with a fighter that didn't come to lay down...And his heart stopped working.

Good things happen when you come to win the fight...

yeah he did. he got caught up in the crowd, was intoxicated by his own success and got into wild exchanges unnecessarily.
if he boxes maidana from the outside and counters, he wins easily.
same thing with cayo, he only started to fade once he stopped moving, tried to fight maidana off the ropes or walk maidana down.

        edit
OTOH, alexander stays within himself. stays disciplined and on his jab. he should box circles around maidana.

the wild exchanges were completely unnecessary.
ortiz was full of machismo and it cost him in the end.
he underestimated maidana's will and overestimated his own power.

              Whatever.

He took away every single advantage Ortiz had...Then crushed him. Ortiz never hurt him. He was more surprised at how fast Ortiz was, that was it. Not saying he will beat Alexander, but I like the match up.

You do know that there are some fighter you can't just stay outside with right?

I see Maidana as one of those fighters. He will come after you. Win, lose, or draw.

He snatched Ortiz's heart, plain and simple. Even more simple, he didn't fold to the star power of Ortiz.

ortiz never hurt him?? so all 3 of those KD's were of the flash/off-balance variety?
                ok
ortiz hurt him and thought if he just kept landing punches he could put him away. it didnt work that way and it was a ****** change in tactics.

He never looked hurt...Every single time he got up, he looked more suprised about how fast Ortiz was. Just cause you get knocked down doesn't mean you are hurt.

So you are telling me that Maidana was shaky after those knockdowns?..He wasn't. Not even close.

He came to win period. That is what I like about him. I could care less if Ortiz is more skilled than him...Didn't seem to matter much. Did it?

You could want Ortiz to do this and that, but the fact is, Maidana put it all on the line to break him, and he did.

                  Maidana has my full support!

once a quitter always a quitter. if maidana puts pressure on ortiz, he will quit again, just like cintron.
