wlad - 5 guys to fight, 5 guys to avoid

5 guys he should NOT fight

tua - a win does nothing for wlad, since tua has been practically retired. tua is VERY durable and always dangerous at anytime in a fight.

tyson - too durable, too dangerous... even in defeat tyson takes an ass whipin and he still has a big punch

peter - big puncher and if he can take a punch would be too dagerous for wlad right now

brewster - riding high right now, wlad should wait a year or two cause even though brewster sucks, his style is a problem for wlad right now

TOS - a win would mean nothing and TOS is always dagerous with that right hand.. little gain, everything to lose

    5 guys wlad SHOULD fight

byrd - beat him once, nothing's changed, beat him again

brock - prospect with a big win over mccline... not a big puncher, so there's little danger... could be durable though

fres - not a big puncher and not very durable... nice KO for wlad

    barrett - see byrd

ruiz - durable, but not a big puncher or good boxer, little risk
for wlad.. would be a nice win too...

I agree with everything except Brock. Brock is dangerous from the outside and can definitely crack. He hits hard enough to put Wlad down, has heart (showcased in the McCline fight), and can fight bigger guys (again McCline). Wlad should steer clear of Brock. I think he'd toast TOS if they fought again so I don't think thats an "avoid him" fight. TOS is straight garbage...

brock beat a decent fighter in mccline, but not a good one and he did struggle a bit...

I completely agree, but all you really had to say is....

        VLAD HAS NO CHIN

that pretty much sums up the post, he can't compete vs. power punchers, and he has a slim shot vs. guys with no power

wlad needs to fight anybody if he wants to be champ, how are you gonna call yourself champ when you strategically avoid big punchers? thats dumb, why not have wlad fight tomato cans the rest of his career so he doesnt get hurt. if he cant fight and beat the best, its time for him to call it quits.

right now wlad is high risk/ low reward, he will be lucky to get any fights with top contenders or champs. wlad is in no position to decline a fight

roy jones took on all his mandatories, bernard hopkins does the same thing except people praise him for it.

plus roy jones took on the heavyweight champ, only the second former middle champ to become heavyweight champ in history and the first time in 106 years.

First Guru, I'm liking these 'five guys to fight or not to fight' threads.(you should do one on Tyson)

Secondly, of the list of fighters you think Wlad should fight, whose really interested(and will pay) to see Wlad fight boring fighters like Ruiz,Barrett, and Fres? As for Byrd, he's been ducking Wlad for months, is fighting some no-name, and doesn't seen like he wants to fight anyone for that matter. As for Brock,I see that as an interesting matchup that HBO can hype up.

In terms of marketability, matchups against Tyson,Tua,and Brewster would be easier to sell and probaly more profitable. Tyson, his name alone can sell out stadiums and the ppvs always have high ratings, and against a big name fighter like Wlad, alot of boxing fans would be watching. As for Tua, he's an exciting fighter to watch and has a 'cult following.' And lastly, Brewster and Wlad have history, and some redeption wouldn
t hurt Wlad at all. No guts, no glory!

Guru, your thinking too much like a boxing promoter who doesn't want his fighter to take any risks.

Wlad's chin isn't the best, but that's a hate-motivated post if I ever saw one.

How many shots did he take from Sanders?

And he even took a few shots from Brewster before going down after being too exhausted to avoid them.

If you said he has a stamina issue, or issues with pacing himself, I would more readily agree, even though he has other fights that went into the late rounds, but a china chin?
Can't compete with power punchers period, and only a slim chance against fighters with no punch? Look, if you hate the Klits, that's fine, we all have to hate somebody, but you could have at least followed that post with "but I hate the Klit brothers more than Louis Farrakhan hates crackers in general, so please disregard my hateful, biased posts about them..."

i didnt say he should do this his whole career... he's in a rebuilding stage right now, 1 year removed from the brewster fiasco and he needs some confidence building fights...
