I'm mostly unbiased here despite being American because I don't care about Andre much and enjoyed some of AA's past KOs that I've become a fan of his.
The fight was completely anticlimatic and left a really bad sour taste after watching it for afew reasons.
Laurence Cole. This dude has got to have his license taken away. Absolutely one of the worst refs in boxing in almost every match I see him in he's a joke. I can't believe he counted that clear KD by AA on Andre as a slip. Andre wouldn't have fallen back had that punch never landed to begin with. Clear KD ruled as a slip. Terrible call. THEN, when AA had Andre trapped in the corner and is pounding on him, ref breaks it up to tell AA to stop measuring him. Yet immediately after that call, AA does it again and Cole doesn't warn him? wtf ref? Ok that's it with the ref stuff that made the fight bs.
Now for the ending, Andre clearly slipped and went down and was clearly tagged while defenseless on the ground by a head snapping shot. Clearly it was out of frustration by AA but also milked by Andre. AA was really putting on the heat in those last few rounds with a couple clean shots that landed that had Andre rattled. This was his best exit strategy that would save him from a possible KO by AA if he got back up and tried to finish the fight. Cmon people, Andre's eyes were still straight after being tagged, then he puts his glove to his face, goes down, starts to shake his legs, yet in less than 5 minutes of that, he's back on a stool talking normal and able to walk out perfectly on his own? Yet 10 minutes prior or so his body was shaking violently on the ground? Not sure how many fighters are able to do that from something that causes you to shake. It's good to hear Andre is safe and doing good now because it only further enhances what I thought and many others did.
Ok enough rambling, that's my take. Bull**** ending to a decent fight ruined by a ****ty ref.
