Utter bullcrap. You use headgear in sparring and usually 16oz+ gloves. Plus that you don't whack your sparring partner while he's slipped on the canvas and has both gloves planted solidly. That was a knock-out punch. You write it like he was graced. The punch came from behind with his weight in it and was planted on his jaw-line and to make it worse Dirrell never saw it coming. That's not a jab or "a punch that Dirrell probably walks through during sparring"...
he didn't even **** back on the punch, he was standing still. It was no worse then JMM-Barerra. The guy didn't suffer a concussion, but can't remember a thing after, yea right.
not a fan but i did think he would win, but dirrell boxed brillantly, i lost all respect for A.A during the J.T fight when you could cleary see A.A following thru with elbows, even the 1 second highlight showtime played before last nights fight showed it.
i think A.A would have knocked dirrell out but he lost all but 1 round, and was that really his game plan on how to beat dirrell throw less punches than usual?
Not only did he foul him very bad, he tried to act like AD was to blame.
I have no respect for posters opinion on if there was acting involved or not. Guess what, we have never been hit flush in the jaw by Abraham, while trying to do the split.
Even if AD doesnt go down like that, it was a damaging blow. If Im the ref I DQ AA because Im not gonna let a foul decide the outcome of the fight.
Im still a fan. Nothing has changed about Abraham, he is still a great fighter, a warrior. What i got out of last night was lot more respect for Dirrel. I knew he was a good boxer and a good runner, i didn't know he had that good power and that he could take Abrahams punches. I was impressed by Dirrel.
Dirrell stuck to a good dame plan. speed was killing Abraham, and he deserved to finish the fight. I don't for a second believe Dirrell was out cold and couldnt continue. thats complete BS! so was the ruling of the slip when it was clear Dirrell went down from a punch. Abraham was gaining momentum and the fight was stopped. i'm really disappointed in Dirrell's corner for not taking advantage of recovery time, knowing he was ahead on points and that they could have breezed through the next two rounds to victory. Instead we have to see Dirrell cry, and
