First off I do believe what Guzman did was foul and that he should be penalized and not get a title shot immediately at least at 140, but he did prove that he can still box and is still slick which is something that could give Maidana trouble.
Cayo looked good with his slick style but his habit of keeping his hands down got him caught with some flush shots and eventually a knockdown + a knockout. Cayo is basically a guzman with less skills. No one can take away Guzmans ability regardless of not being able to make the weight. Of course he can make 140 his frame isnt for a 147 (think about Guzman vs Mosley cmon now) so if he continued to fight hed have to contend at 140. Its clear he cant make 135, but I dont see him doing so well at 140 to be honest so hed have to prove me wrong. Madiana has a hell of a punch but he was missing alot against Cayo. Guzman would box circles around Maidana, but I do believe if Maidana lands that shot it would be lights out for Guzman.
Hopefully with this win hell rededicate himself and come in at a solid 140 and then id start to believe in him again.
Bradley, Valero, Malignaggi, Campbell, and Ortiz would all be good fights for him, but for a tune-up id like to see how he does against Juan Urango or a Zab Judah then we would be able to see whats up. Alexander and Khan would be big threats for him to just jump in with immediately though. I dont think highly of Khan but his physical stature would be too much for Guzman imo and Alexander imo is a beast and would outbox and probably KO Guzman.

if guzman isnt prepared to go a full 12 rounds in a all out war, he will get stopped, maidana hits hard enough to stop anyone at 140.............
with that being said, i think guzman is the more talented guy, but he's a head case as far as his consistency and i think that if he comes in the ring in any condition other/under than a 100%, he will lose.
