BUT THE DUCK IS NOT MUTUAL.

fighters like maidana struggle to get fights because they have no fanbase & no clout in the sport so they get politically mistreated by the boxing power brokers. maidana would never duck a big money fight vs a glass chinned hype job so far.
The duck is mutual was a little over the top. It certainly is more Khan than Maidana. But GBP and HBO aren't just going to test VC and not Khan. They want to make sure they're not buying a lemon. While powers that be will be doing everything to make it in Khan's favor when the match up happens, you can be sure Khan will face Maidana in 2 to 3 fights. Sounds messed up, but if Maidana were Mexican instead of Argentinan, it would be him with the larger fanbase, and it would be Khan getting screwed. With Maidana's HBO deal and HBO having the best fighters at 140, Maidana can't say that HBO is sweeping him under the rug. A fighter like him can build a good following if he keeps K.Oing people. And he's still not eager to give VC a rematch.

bull****. GBP's main goal is to set up a fight between Khan and Ortiz. Expect Khan or Ortiz to fight Maidana if they beat their May 15th opponent.

This was obvious since day one. They saw what happened to Ortiz and they don't want to risk it with Khan. It's not the only thing they are doing. They are trying to avoid Alexander and Bradley too until they fight.
