Arthur disappointed me tonight. There was some rough fighting from both guys, but hitting Dirrell while he was down crosses the line of acceptable behavior.
Great boxing and foot movement by Dirrell, I thought Arthur was starting to tag him and had a fair chance for the KO in 12th, but we'll never know now. But most likely, Dirrell would've won UD.Comment

Dirrell knows the blow was illegal as soon as he looks at the ref. He knows that if he acts as if he can't continue the fight ends right then and there. That's what he did, not saying it isn't smart.
I never said Dirrell didn't fight an awesome fight, cause he did.
He deserved to win.
AA deserved to lose and get DQ'd for that shot, just like R. Jones got DQ'd for hitting Montel Griffin in the same fashion.
Bottom line, Dirrell was not hurt in the fashion he acted like. For pure boxing fans like me, I think these kind of antics hurt the sport. Hell yeah AA hitting him when he's down is WRONG and hurts the sport as well. That being said, how do we attract new life long fans to a great sport when they see a fight like this and go "this is no better than watching WWE".Comment

Threadstarter, I see you acknowledge that Abraham threw a short hook? Okay now you as a real boxing fan, should know that short punches are known for hurting even fighters that are aware? Dirrell was clearly caught off guard, and in the slow motion replay you can see his chin was caught flush and his whole head turned quickly. If Dirrell just pulled out an act, then he should not only win an Oscar but he also has a chin of 10 prime Margarito's.Comment

I was one of the originals on this site, then all the idiots that know nothing about boxing started showing up. I hopped on the site for the first time in at least 2 years to see what people are saying, and I'm not suprised that the majority of you knuckleheads think that Dirrell is really hurt.
1) I had $1000 to win $1700 on Dirrell tonight. I'm very happy he won and he fought damn near the perfect fight.
2) The cut was nowhere near bad enough to consider a stoppage. The fact that they took more than 15 secs to say he's fine keep going was a ****in joke.
3) Dirrell took the easy way out. He was starting to feel the pressure and when AA hit him when he was down he went into ***** mode.
4) REAL boxing fans should be upset because what should have happened is AA shoulda had a point taken and we as fans shoulda got 2 more rounds of boixing.
Those 4 above are the dead nut facts and if you don't believe the you are exactly the idiots that drove REAL BOXING fans from this site. See you in another 3 years.Comment

Could have been a delayed reaction.
I don't know his eyes were glossy and his legs were already gone leading up to the punch.
Bad luck for Abe.Comment
