I dont see anything wrong with any of those comments. Hatton is shot, and Khan's career has been heavily guided...

Sugar Ray Leonard did a stint with *******, but yet many people call him the best fighter of the 80's. Then again SRL took bigger challenges than Calslappy. I'd rather root for a charsmatic, entertaining average joe like Hatton then Snorting Joe.

I agree, this really is a non-story when you think about. A man with some issues...which is 99.9% of the mass population.

This happens to many athletes unfortunately. They devote themselves to a sport that basically becomes their life. They then cannot walk away from the sport, or if they do, they fall into the party lifestyle that they missed when they were young due to their previous devotion.

I hope he gets the help he needs and gets his life back.

I used to see Nigel Benn in clubs like Ministry, not long after his boxing career and I'm sure he was on something. Or at least almost everyone around him was at it. Including me. (allegedly)

Apparently it's true, having been picked up by the AP and MSNBC among a few other major news' sites. The question is who really cares?

The irony in all this being that journos are the biggest drinkers and cokeheads out there, yet they get to point fingers at celebs who they entrap.

The only ones on here defending Joe's actions are probably either substance abusers themselves or just Calzaghe fanboys who would defend him if he were a convicted cold blooded murderer.

It's his voice on the tapes, it's his apology and it is him who will have to answer to his family and the boxing critics. He will be punished and rightfully so.

It's one thing to drink casually and socialize, etc...but entirely different when you are a coke user with a family and have a professional athletes responsibility.

Being away and sick from the sport is no excuse.

Joe has really messed up and in my opinion, this is worse than had he retired with a loss to Dawson.

While I still respect his ring prowess I would be lying if I said I viewed him in the same way.

Not sure what he was saying about Hatton getting KO'd by a nobody. Presumably he doesn't think Pacquiao and Mayweather are nobodies. Think he was just fkd on drugs.
