i saw u left a post in this thread and i was impressed. i really thought to myself "wow, hes in a thread not concerning pac or mayweather!"
my bad, i shouldve known thats all u follow when it comes to boxing. ffs 2sec ago u was saying pacquiao is a much greater fighter than hagler
u probably dont even follow boxing do u? only the weightclass mannys in, i know for sure u dont watch the old school fights. i mean u arent a fan of boxing, just pacquiao. probably was a fan of his singing before u found out he was an athlete.

The part you are not taking into consideration is that if there is no fight, Ali does not get paid. He will have wasted time and money in training for this fight. He needs to pay his team. His promoter may be pressuring him to go on with the show as well. Guzman's lack of sportmanship and professionalism has put him in a tough spot. It's not fair at all.
Ideally, the fight would be cancelled and Funeka would still get paid, with the money coming from a large penalty to Guzman and his promoter. Of course, that's not how the contracts are ever set up.
Add me to the list of people hoping for Funeka by brutal stoppage.Comment

That's riduculous. Either the bet gets called off before the fight, or the wager stands.you and sam should do it like real boxing since his guy is in the right and yours is in the wrong. The bet should now be if Ali wins then Sam wins the money but if Guzman wins then you still dont win any money just like Guzman cant win the bet. Its only fair since your man broke the rules. Ill keep my nose out of it now, lol
Also, and personally I don't understand this, Funeka is now a bigger favorite than he was at any point since the line came out! I guess the bettors are thinking that Guzman coming in overweight is going to help Funeka.Comment

What I don't get is why Funeka had a limit on his rehydration.
In a perfect world he'd get half of Guzman's purse, the IBF belt guaranteed, no limit on his reweigh in and a brutal KO of Guzman.Comment

I didn't get that point at all either, until someone here explained it. That was because Funeka is still fighting for the title, so he still needs to follow all of the IBF's rules for a title match. That (no more than 10 lbs over the weigh in weight the morning of the fight) is one of the rules. Guzman does not have to follow it, because he is not eligible for the title, but the two camps came to an agreement that he couldn't be over 150.
I agree with you. Funeka should just be given the title. That way, even if Funeka were to turn down the fight, he would still get something of economic value. That is the only reason to want one of these garbage alphabet soup belts anyway - the money you can make from holding one.Comment

Yeah, I hope this doesn't hurt him in the fight at all.
These guys have I am sure some sort of science that works for them specifically in terms of rehydration and what ever routine Funeka has been using has now been thrown off to some degree as a result of someone else not following the rules and honoring his agreement.Comment

Don't be surprised if Guzman declines the pre fight weigh in. He's not obligated to do it.Comment

with the fight still being on, they shouldve contracted that guzman would start the fight being down 9 rounds on the cards since he was 9lbs over the limit............... that is only fair, since he's all hydrated and didnt drain himself to the torture of making weight.... funeka did......Comment
